Last night ended like today began  - with me trying to get seaweed out of the generator water intake line. I noticed that the water coming out of the generator was less than normal as I charged the batteries last evening. I took the strainer apart and cleaned out a bunch of weeds. Initially the flow of water was OK, but quickly clogged again. So, I took the strainer apart again. It was clean which meant the water intake line was clogged. I went to bed. So early today I attacked the problem again, without success. I tried to get various wires through the hoses and fittings but could not get the water to flow normally, although I did get some seaweed out. Finally I ran the main engine to put some amps back into the batteries. At 7:30 it was time to fish with Kevin. He picked me up  in his dingy which has an electric motor and lithium battery. We had a nice night last night. There was a cool breeze blowing through the cabin. Kerry even got a blanket out in the early morning hours. I forgot to put my Fitbit on after my shower last night so I don't have a sleep score, but I think it would be good.  I made my coffee as usual, but sat on the front of the boat in the shade in a nice breeze and read all the newspapers I brought from home. It was very pleasant.  Kerry got up about 10:30. I made her tea and blueberry pancakes for breakfast. She cleaned up while I emailed an invitation for our Fifty + One Anniversary Celebration to each of the invitees. We sent everyone a separate invitation to make it feel more personal.  It was really hot in the anchorage. The water was still and cool. The waterline had scum and seaweed growing all over it, especially the side away from the dock in Vermilion that gets the sun all day. So, what was a captain to do? July 17, 2021, Saturday, Cedar Point with the Clarks

This is the big Cedar Point Weekend with Anne and the grand kids on Annie. We planned to meet at Cedar Point. We came up yesterday so we could get Annie ready for a quick departure after the Trustee Meeting. I should have known things would not go according to plan when water dripped on my pillow at 4:00 AM. Kerry and I taped up a garbage bag with masking tape and all was well until 5:30 when the masking tape let go and water started falling again on the pillow. This time I went out in the rain to my back locker and got a roll of Gorilla tape which ended the taping problem with the bag. Our plan was to attend the meeting and sell items from the Ship's Store before and afterwards. Kerry set the store up last night. I got up at 7:30 to shower, but first a weather check. I did not like what I saw. Winds were now forecast to be 18 to 20 knots from the NE. Where did the 5-15 forecast go? The winds were forecast to start building at 8:00. The were calm now.
