July 1, 2021, Thursday, Presque Isle in Erie, PA.

Most of the night we had a beautiful breeze blowing through the V-Berth hatch. Rain started about 4:00 AM so we had to batten down the hatches. It rained on and off until about 7:00, sometimes very hard with boomers nearby. I popped up about 6:00 for a quick look around and saw that we were alone in the anchorage. All the Loopers had already departed. Most of the day we were alone in the anchorage.

Kerry was up at 11:30 to make our lunch, wonderful BLT's, my favorite lunch. Prior to that I read some technical information Mark at Parker had left for me and did some filing of boat materials. Filtered sun appeared about 12:30 which gave me a chance to move my reading outside. Big Jim sent me a picture of his bacon and egg breakfast. He was motivated to cook after seeing my little white powered donuts, but I notice he forgot his toast and potatoes. Kerry made my favorite BLT lunch for me.

The generator has resumed it's old ways of charging at a much much slower rate as the batteries get more charged. It had been charging so fast. What a bummer. It was charging so much faster before. I don't know why that happened and I do not know why it is charging slower now. I have to run it so much longer now, and could hardly get the batteries to 82% last night.

The afternoon blossomed into a beautiful day, as pretty a summer day as you could ask for. Filtered sun, mild temperatures and a nice breeze. I spent the time outside, cleaning, reading, etc. Kerry reorganized her main saloon cabinets. We both enjoyed the day.

Because of the breeze, cocktails were on top of the V-Berth cabin again, facing into the sun and breeze. It was a most pleasant happy hour. A few boats came in and anchored later in the day. It's so pretty now, but the forecast is for rain starting tonight and continuing all day tomorrow. I have saved a few things to do on the computer tomorrow if that is what happens.

I grilled pork chops for dinner, the first grilling on this trip. Andrew's hat was on a fender this afternoon, enjoying the nice weather outside. Clever Kerry made the nice face.

We read in the pilot house after dinner. We had a great view of the sky and the sharp colors as a result of the setting sun. It was too windy and cold to sit outside. I took the opportunity for a few pictures, of course.

The first one is of the marina in the bay.
