June 6, 2021, Sunday, Vermilion Yacht Club

We awoke to a beautiful morning. No one arrived for coffee and donuts scheduled at 8:00 so I enjoyed my coffee on Annie. The boat behind us left which was a relief. The dock master had parked the boat in front of us only about a foot away and I was a bit concerned about pulling out. No problem now. And as it turned out, the boat in front of us left before we did anyway.

Gilbert Lorenzo stopped over to visit while we were having our morning coffee and tea. He is the sailor who bought Windchaser from Lou and Gretchen Myers. He now has a 42' trawler called "Old Goat". He is an associate member of the ASPS and now the Commander of the Vermilion chapter. He bought the trawler in anticipation of doing the Great Loop Cruise.

The trip back to Vermilion was about 26 miles and very pleasant. I even got to sunbath and read on the pilot house deck. Once back at VYC I updated the Board of Trustee pictures and Kerry worked on a display for the Ship's Store. She seems enthusiastic about the store again after her interest had waned a little.

Anthony is supposed to show up and wax Annie (again) tomorrow. I hope he shows up for the job. Many boat workers do not. We have a busy week of doctor visits and things that will keep us home for a few days. If Anthony does show up, I will have to come up one day to turn Annie around so the port side can be attended to.
