Peter is becoming a very reliable cruising partner. Promptly at 8:00 there was a tap on the deck to see if the cappuccino bar was open. It was. And it was a double day for Peter so all of the old K-cups are gone. Tomorrow he will get one from my new, fresh batch. I took a picture of Peter in front of our newly repaired shade and posted it on yesterday's blog. Somehow we started looking at my Trent Severn Lift Lock videos on You Tube, and the ones I made of the Pipers in Kincardine. It was fun. You can find them on the Don Albanese Channel on YT.

The Orros decided to pass on garage sailing so Kerry and I set out at 10:00 alone. Our first stop was a visit at Isobel, the Tartan 37' owned by our friends Alice and Kevin Miller. They came is yesterday too. The ride over to their boat made me feel very uncomfortable because of the horrendous golf cart we passed. I'll have to see if the marina has a "safe room" for me.

Then it was off garage sailing. The first one was all fishing stuff, and the second one was all tools. Perfect I thought, a disaster according to Kerry. Well then she hit gold. We spent over $30 at this one sale where she stocked up on things like Vera Bradley stuff, Kate Spade queen size fleece blanket, etc. Then when we stumbled back on that sale looking for a church sale, she stopped and bought $25 more! I bought some things at the sales too. A fish "popper" lure and 4 LED lights that have a switch on them so you can adjust the hue to three different settings. We had to come back because our bikes were full!

I made a grocery run after lunch which was left over all you could eat fried fish from last night. I got a nice bottle of sambuca and a six pack of Guinness -  finally I will have one on this cruise - plus I restocked our dollar store cookie drawer.

I invited Peter over for an afternoon cigar about 2:00. He was washing his cockpit floor so he was glad to accept my invitation. We both choose cigars that had been in my portable humidifier. They were very fresh because of that and did not crunch when bit down upon as many of my old dried out cigars do. We smoked a couple of inches (big cigars) and put the rest in the barbeque grill until we wanted to smoke them again.

At 4:00 we went to Isobel for pain killers with our friends Kevin and Alice Miller from the Akron Sail and Power Fleet. They have a very nice Tartan 37'. The pain killers were very refreshing. They are on a where the wind blows cruise that will last until the end of September if Alice has her way.

We invited the Orros over at 6:00. Kerry pretty much had the whole dinner prepared when they arrived, so we all sat in the pilot house and had cocktails. It was too sunny and warm to go on the top deck. We had her blackened shrimp alfredo dinner. It's one of my favorite because it is so delicious. I fried pita bread to be like naan which turned out well too. Marianna brought us 2 gift packages of turkey jerky which should be delicious.

I was disappointed that Kerry did not use the special pasta I brought for Peter for this dinner. It is a new design of pasta made by Sfoglini, called Cascatelli. It has a new shape that is designed to stay firmer and hold more sauce. I read about it in Florida, told Rosemary who special ordered some, and then gave me the box I planned to try with Peter. I told Peter the whole purpose of this cruise was to serve him this pasta dinner. He agreed that is also why he came on this cruise. I guess Kerry was afraid to take a risk with new pasta. Her dinner was good with traditional linguine.

We had liquors and Marianna's freshly baked blondies for dessert after dinner. Very satisfying. A special treat was when I broke out my package of Necco Wafers. I have been saving them this entire trip. We're shooting for an early start tomorrow. Peter is coming over for cappuccinos at 7:45. The trip to Milliken is about 32 miles. It's down river except when crossing Lake St. Clair, so it should be a fast trip. We are going to have dinner at a restaurant Kerry designed when she worked in Interior Design.
